Disordered chatterings about some movies I have seen ...
Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit(October 2005)
Fantastic! Hilarious! A stormy dose of humour! (Disclaimer: I have ever been a fan of the funny couple)
Cassern(July 2005)
very good, liked it
Arsene Lupin(July 2005)
enjoyable
Madagascar (July 2005)
A bit disappointing, these kind of movies all start to look the same ...
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (May 2005)
I enjoyed watching it. However, having not read the books yet, I felt like missing some links, so to say.
The motorcycle diaries (November 2004)
I quite liked it. Recommended.
Farhenheit 9/11 (August 2004)
Educational material, glad I saw it
The day after tomorrow (June 2004)
Worthless, except for the fine irony of the Mexican border sequence, but I
won't spoil it here ...
Troy (June 2004)
Fair enough, good swordfights, stunts and things like that.
Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban (May 2004)
Good one, perhaps the creepiest of the serie so far.
The passion of the Christ (April 2004)
Crude.
Something's gotta give ... (Februar 2004)
Really funny, recommended.
Last samurai (Januar 2004)
Sort of ok ...
The return of the king (Januar 2004)
Well, I have seen only twice so far, not enough yet to make a sound
judgement ... :-)
Dogville (November 2003)
worth seeing it, period.
Matrix Revolutions (November 2003)
just disappointed, the worst of the trilogy. Pity.
Pirates of the Caribbean (September 2003)
I admit I had some prejudice before seeing it. The fact is that
is a good movie: J. Depp is acting greatly! Hilarious entertainment.
Matrix Reloaded (June 2003)
I confess I must see this again, not very impressed overall, but I
guess this is the curse of the sequels.
Solaris (March 2003)
No, not the OS, sorry ... ;-) I have not (yet) read the book from
Stanislaw Lem, but after seeing the movie I will definitely do so.
The movie is good, I liked it, makes you wonder about ... could
you live in an artificial world created by your mind and/or wishes?
Are you willing to quit reality and substitute it with a projection
of your strongest wishes born from the desperation of past mistakes
in your (real) life? Mind you, no action whatsoever :-)
Catch me if you can (January 2003)
Good one, interesting is the fact that there was someone who
actually did all of this in real life! In how many ways can we
fool/cheat each other?
Reign of fire (January 2003)
Sort of ok, well, I like fantasy in general, so I guess I am
somewhat biased here. The major breakthrough/idea is at the end
"... and they killed the dragon and lived happy forever ...".
Come on, can we get past happy ends? there is really no better
idea? Oh well ...
Star Trek X: Nemesys (January 2003)
Disclaimer: know close to nothing about Star Trek, so this for me
was just a SF movie; perhaps this means I have missed something,
perhaps not. Anyway, there is a good idea in it, but badly developed,
at times I was almost bored.
The two Towers (January 1, 2003)
Nothing for me to discuss here: masterpiece? stunning? breathtaking?
ok, ok, there are same rather gratuitous changes from the book, but,
in my opinion, while some are totally unnecessay (especially the
sequence about Faramir ...) other scenes are very well blended and
built on top of what is said, or better, suggested in the book. In
the end is only a movie, the real thing is in the book and your imagination ;-)
The fellowship of the ring (2002)
Hat's off and a big thank you to Peter Jackson for making it
real! Disclaimer: I am long time Tolkien fan therefore ... cum grano salis.
The others (2002)
Great movie, unsettling ...
Finally the can of worms, i.e. self inflicted punishment took
place by seeing the following movies: Cold mountain, Kill Bill vol.1, Signs, Dare Devil, Naked Weapons.
I truely repent for the time and money wasted ...
